Achievements and trophies
The Achievements tab combines RetroAchievements progress and RPCS3's local trophies. Progress also appears in the library.
The summary adapts to the available width. Daily and monthly charts use two columns in wider windows; the games list and recent unlocks can also appear side by side. In narrower windows, these blocks stack and long names can wrap. The arrangement does not change progress or trophy criteria.
RetroAchievements
- Open Settings → Achievements.
- Follow the instructions to obtain your Web API Key.
- Enter your username and key, then save.
The application validates the account and starts checking progress. The emulator connected to your account unlocks achievements; Playtrove reads what was recorded on the website.
Checks run automatically every five minutes while the application is open and after closing a game. Use Update to request another check. Newly detected unlocks produce notifications.
Games are matched by console and name. Not every game in your library will have a corresponding RetroAchievements set.
How trophies are displayed
RetroAchievements does not provide PlayStation trophy categories. Playtrove uses points to display bronze (up to 9), silver (10 to 24) and gold (25 or more). Platinum indicates that all achievements in that set have been unlocked.
RPCS3 trophies
No RetroAchievements account is needed: Playtrove reads the trophies RPCS3 stores on your computer. Configure RPCS3 in the Emulators tab.
RPCS3 installs trophies when a game first runs, so they may not be available before then. Locked hidden trophies stay concealed until you use Show hidden. Trophy types come from RPCS3's own files.
